    i just don’t get google sometimes…

    http://www.google.com/search?q=insidious_plots

our new domain name never appears in the results, though, i CAN find a cached version of it…
hmmm, well, i went to get a link and now it seems google does NOT have a cached version… though, oddly enough, it has a copy of our CURRENT hp on our new domain, yet google says it is a copy of our our PREVIOUS address on earthlink… right page, wrong address… timelines and dates have not been clear in my head lately, but, i know for a fact that it is the new page from the new host at the new name because of a couple clues… for instance, the photos link goes to “/photos…”, not “/media/photos…”, which we changed when we moved to the new host…

weird things aside, i don’t get why our new domain name is not showing up… i guess it is a page rank thing, and the site is new… and, btw, my logs say googlebot has been there…
    blah…

and the few pics i snapped while there are now online…
http://insidiousplots.com/photos/2004-march and i used a “gcrmc” prefix on all the filenames that are pics i took while there…

the only thing i will bother to explain in the pics, atm, is the ones taken of the three of us, seven days after the hospital… the objects we are holding up are radios they use around the house, especially for emergencies… long story, i suppose, but, it makes you sort of an integrated, hard-wired part of the household to have one…

i plan to eventually post some notes about it all and excerpts from emails and messages exchanged during the time…

  • in d/fw for a day (from my live journal)

well we made it into d/fw this morning around 6am… it has been a very long couple of days… i drove down from albuquerque sunday night after work… i got finally see my husband after 10 horribly long days… that has made everything worth it all… i got there sunday night and then the next afternoon around 4pm we left… we drove through el paso and stopped it get starbucks… then from there we were on our way into d/fw… i had a dental appointment this morning at 8am but luckily they were able to change it to 4pm for me so i could get some sleep… so i slept about 7 hours then went to the dentist this afternoon… from there we went to a half-priced books to look for laserdiscs… we picked up a couple and then ate and grabbed another starbucks and headed to dallas… we went to the movie trading company and grabbed some laserdiscs and some movie soundtracks… then we headed over to half-priced books in dallas and picked up a couple things there… when we were in arlington we stopped into the half-priced books and picked up a couple of movie scripts… we could not believe they had them and they were only $5 a piece… we picked up alien and ience of the lambs… 2 movies that we like very much…

it was the best find that we had while we were here so far… we are going to hit fort worth on our way out of town, so we’ll see…

not much else for tonight…. i will have to post when i get back about the last couple of days before i left town…

time to go to sleep soon, another long day of driving tomorrow…

  • wow, an heirloom

    [moved from my LiveJournal]

after all that has been going on, my mom, dad, and i had a long talk last night telling him all we did during his hospital time, he does not remember anything but the the last couple days of it all… we have had a bonding experience that i could not begin to explain or describe, so, i will not bother… check miss mary’s lj for some of it… maybe when it is all over, i will post excerpts from emails that i sent and received during it all…
so, anyway, this morning, my dad said it was time to give me something he had planned for years to give me, but, had never told me about it… it is his father’s wedding ring… his father gave it to him and now he is giving it to me… i said i felt bad because it seemed more logical to give it to my brother, jeff, because he has a son to pass it to, since i plan to never to have kids, but, he said he wanted me, the first-born son, to have it…
i am floored… i don’t know yet what i will do with it… obviously, my wedding ring is totalled and i want another, but, it is not the same and, more practically, it does not fit my wedding ring finger anyway… apparently my grandfather had larger hands than me, it only fits on my largest finger, my right middle finger…

not every day you get an heirloom, and i am very thankful he gave it to me… the three of us have been through a lot recently and i am very moved to know that he sees all this that has gone on as so important as to decide this was a time to give me something he was waiting on the right time for for thirty years…

an experience i will never be able to fully relate… reminds me of two lines… tom hanks in ‘saving private ryan’, about how he doesn’t know how he will ever tell his wife “days like today” and the american beauty line, “you have no idea what i am talking about, but don’t worry; you will”…

hopefully, everyone is involved enough in their family, at some point or another, to experience something like this…

i could probably come up with something more meaningful to say, but, i have had two drinks and i don’t drink, so, they went straight to my head, so, i will leave it at that…

  • a hard night… (from my live journal)

    Current Mood: nervous

Current Music: nothing now, but listened to some old tapes all day…

i know that i did not post last night, so i am posting now and may or may not post later on as well…

his dad got to come home from the hospital and that was good, but when i called this morning he was having alot of problems… he did not get the medication he needed and that was just the start of it… i feel so bad about not being able to do more from here… i thought that i might be able to get something from the VA here but it is not really possible… he usually goes to the one in El Paso and so it would not be much use in my going to the one here to get the meds or anything…

my car seemed better this morning but after a bit seemed a little rough… i have to get it into someone ASAP because i have to drive to d/fw this next week and can not have it breaking down on the way… i hope that guy at work comes through for me and if not then i will take it wherever i can thursday morning…

i would be more than willing to leave it with someone for a couple days if that is what is needed but i have to get it looked at right away… i talked to someone today and they said that it sounds pretty much just like it is needing a good tune-up, so i am praying that is all it is…
    please God!

well, i have not talked to christopher since this morning and i have not gotten any emails so i am thinking the worst… i hope not…

i just wish there was something more that i could do but i am trying to be strong and do all the responsible things here…

i know that today was not my most productive and that i pray that i did not set myself back too much but i have thursday partially open and can make necessary arrangements if need be…

well, not much else, so i am off and will see what happens… if there is any new news then i will be posting aain, but if not then this is it for today and will see what tomorrow brings…

  • another long day and more to come… (from my live journal)

you can see the original post here

well, i have been trying to post here every night since my husband is still down taking care of his father in the hospital…

but, we are praying that he gets to go home tomorro, but that does not mean that he gets to come home to me yet… it will still be another couple of weeks…

well, i took my car in today and they could not look at it, so i went and had its oil changed since i have been putting tons of miles on it the last couple of weeks… the poor thing hit 100,000 miles this last week… my poor lil car… 🙁

but, i am trying to become a “real wife” while heis gone and went to the grovery store and bought tons of food so i can learn how to cook while he is gone… 🙂

and, i just called my work tonight and i am back to work in the morning at 10:30am so it is going to have to be an early night… so, i am going to post this and do a couple things and get a good nights sleep… they have me on the official schedule on thursday, so i will be making my own “real” money as of then… thank God…

not much else happened today, so i am keeping this one kinda short…

i will be back to post tomorrow…

  • today i kept busy… (from my live journal)

    Current Mood: accomplished

Current Music: none- a little silence

the original post can be foundhere

i tried to keep myself busy today so i would not feel so depressed…

i woke up around 9:30am and called the hospital and spoke with my husband… that was SO nice to hear his voice…
    i miss you darling…

then i started the day of running around trying to get things done…

i went down the main street that we live on that has tons of places…

i went to all the furniture shops in this area looking for a new bed and some other things that we needed around here…

well, i ended up at the place that i liked the bed that we saw last week and got a good deal…
    it is what i have wanted for a long time… a canopy-type bed…

it is black which will be perfect since the bedroom is black, white and grey…
and one guy up the street was selling the same bed for $120 and the place that we looked at was selling it for $170, so i struck a deal and got it for $100… woo-hoo… 🙂
    i am pleased with myself…

i also picked up a new comforter which got partially mangled while i was washing it tonight but i think i will be able to fix it before i go to bed tonight…

i also got us a new blanket since we only have a down comforter right now and that was not the most comfortable thing to have right up against your skin while you were sleeping…

so, when he gets home he will have a new bed, blanket and comforter to sleep on… 🙂

i also picked up a much needed bookshelf and it matches perfectly with the other sets that we have all over the living room… i just have to find the time over the next couple of days to get the living room put into a respectable order… it should not take me more than a day to have that all done…

i then after getting that stuff done, walked around the mall a little and talked to some people about getting a cell phone…

btw, i hate those things and did not want one and was letting the people know that up front… but, since i am going to be having to drive back and forth between here and his parents house i am going to need it in case of an emergency…

so, i went over to verizon and picked up a pre-paid cell phone for $100…
it is basic but has text messaging, email and a bnch of other things that i know nothing about since i have never wanted one in the first place… i am going to have to sit down and read the manual here in the next couple of days…

then, i headed home for a bit and then back out to get something to eat and sat down and did all my emails…

what a LONG day it has been and there are still SO many things that i did not get done that i have to do in the next couple of days…

tomorrow, i have to get my car checked out since it was acting a little weird and i did not get that done today and call my work to see when i am supposed to come back to finish this training… blah….

i also want to get my resume set so maybe i can get a REAL job, rather than just waiting tables… yuck…

so, that is about it… i am going to post this, repair my new comforter and go to bed and wake up early tomorrow to finish all the things that i did not get done today…

    so, until tomorrow…

  • this has not been a good day…

    Current Mood: depressed
    Current Music: magnolia soundtrack

last night we drove down to see christophers dad in the hospital again… i sure hope that he gets out of there soon because it is not some place that is uplifting…

that is not the part that has been so bad… i can handle hospitals alright and all that, but i can not handle very well being away from my husband for long periods of time…

i know that what he is doing is the right thing and i would not want him to be away from his father by any means… i want him to help in any way possible… i am just having a hard time with it because in 8 years of marraige, we have only been away from each other for a couple days and that was hard… this is not only for a few days but for a few weeks a least… i know that if it was my father than i would want to be doing the same thing…

i drove home this morning alone and have been thinking about it every waking moment today… i even tried to get out of the house for a couple hours and tried to go shopping for a couple things and was not feeling my best and eventually came back home…

i called and talked to my work this afternoon since i have been missing some of my training… they said that i would need to call them on sunday sometime and we would figure out how all this works…
this makes me feel bad because i feel like i could have had more time, but i also understand because i did not want to make anyone uncomfortabe by being at the hospital too…

i just do not feel like i can be any help there or here right now… i am going to finish doing some things to the apartment tonight and then see what i feel like doing from there…

i also called my parents and talked to both of them and one of my brothers… that was alright… my brother said that he would come out for avisit if i wanted him too… that would be kinda weird but i told him that would let him know if i felt that i needed that…

and so, now i am sitting here… kinda depressed because i do not feel like i am any good for anyone right now… i can not work to make some money, and i can not be near my husband…
i know that i would like to do some things with the apartment since we are still living out of boxes but i do not think that i am feeling particularly decorative at the moment…
i might just lay down on the couch and watch a movie… i do not feel much like laying in bed… and the house has been particularly cold tonight and i can maybe lay near the fireplace…

well, i think i will feel better tomorrow because this is going to be the first night and they are always the hardest to get through…

i think that things will get easier…
i sure hope so because right now, this really sucks…

  • what a day… :/

the original post can be found here

well today has been a trying day to say the least…

we started our day fairly early… i called the 2 TGIFridays in town here since i thought this would be a pretty easy job to get since i had previouly worked for them and done training etc… i talked to the managers and one sounded promising for many reasons and the other not so promising…
well it turned out that the one that was more promising was in a nice part of town that we had been told that “if you can afford to live in rio rancho (the town), then go ahead and search for an apartment there…” so i went to the Fridays there and filled out an application for a job… i thought, what the hell… so that lead us to looking at apartments in the area since i was supposed to come back a couple hours later to speak with a manager…

the apartment hunt… yuck, what an awful thing to go through when you do not have a job since you just moved here from out of state for family and nothing to show proof of income…
we drove across the street and saw some absolutely gorgeous apartments… (will get back to this in a moment)

we had gone to an apartment locator yesterday and that is something that i will not do again… she had given us 5 apartments to look at and one was what she said out of our price range but a beautiful place… we went to the first one and really liked it and the owner of the complex was the one that showed us the place and was willing to work with us… it was nice and thought we might take it… but, it was the first place we had looked and the “nice” place was down on the list… we went to the next 2 places and they were in awful neighborhoods and the apartments themselves were awful… we did not even go into the leasing office of one of them… then, there was one that did not even have any vacancies until the middle of next month…

here we are with the “nice” place… she was right… it was beyond perfect… but it was very expensive, comparitively… we were looking at a 1 bedroom for 700 and a 2 bedroom for 900… but, i fell in love with the place… it had vaulted ceilings, large windows, roman bathtubs, and the view was looking right at the mountains… we could not ask for more… our private balcony was facing the huge mountains in front of us…
but, we ran into some problems with them… they said they would be willing to work with us when we put our deposit down, but when i called this morning, they were rude and inconsiderate and did not agree to anything that was said just the day before… i was upset to say the least…

so, that leads us back to the top again…

we left the Fridays thing and then were back apartment hunting in the area… we pulled up to this place that read “resort community”… i about died… “no way, we are never going to get into THIS place”, we said… we pulled up near the leasing office and we heard some faint sound… we thought it was an alarm going off on our computers but it wasn’t… we got out of the car and as we walked up to the office, we realized that they were playing classical music as you enter the office… i was really saying, no way at this point…. right about then i thought this place is going to cost us like 1000 for a 1 bedroom and 1200 for a 2 bedroom…

but what the hell, we can’t make it to the otherside of town and back before i have that meeting with the manager at Fridays…
so, we walk into this amazing place, it was similar to walking into a casino lobby done in southwest… it was huge, and overlooked 2 lagoon pools, classical music playing and people walking up to you offering you a drink… the guests even walked by and said “hello”… i felt like i was in some twilight zone episode or something… this was TOOperfect… we sat down and talked to the leasing agent… we really liked her… she had her nose pierced and was working here… i already wanted to live here and that was before i had even walked around or talked to one person…

well we talked to her and let her knw our situation and she said…
“the only reason why we turn someone down is if they have a felony…”

    huh?

ok, now this place is really going to cost tons…
we sat down and talked to her and the one bedrooms were 650 and the 2 bedrooms were 779 but for the first half of the lease you pay 100 less making this place only 679 a month…

something had to be wrong here… i was going to wake up at any moment and say that was a really mean dream… but it wasn’t and things just kept getting better…

    the amenities…
they have 2 lagoon pools, one heated year round, a jacuzzi, high-speed internet with fax and everything, a fitness center, a sauna, 9 hole putting green, tennis courts, basketball courts, a sand vollyball court, once a month they have a saturday brunch and you eat until you are full or the food runs out, and…

    (gasp)

a mini theater with stadium seating, large television, surround sound and you can watch your own dvds… this place sits up to 30 people and beautiful seats… you can sign up for a date and time and even use their kitchen to make popcorn and such… within the theater there is a table and chairs for you to put things onto… they encourage you to enjoy this and noone is to bother you when the door is closed… you are uninterrupted for the time you are there… it is amazing…

then, we go and see both the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments… they all have full washer/dryer, security alarms, HUGE windows, balconies, walk-in closets, 40 or 50 gallon water heater (our last one felt lie 5), tons of kitchen space, microwaves, roman tubs, 🙂 and get this… a 13″ tv in the kitchen…

then the 2 bedroom was all this and more… it had a really nice guest room with a great bathroom with tub and all… it has great wood and the walls are two-toned in tans and light sand colors… very nice color schemes…

    we were in love…

we went back to the office after seeing the nicest place we had seen yet to talk things over… we told her that we would talk it over at lunch and be back in a bit since i also needed to go back to Fridays…

we left and went to Fridays and was told to come back at 4…
ok, we had some time to kill, so we went and looked at another complex not far from the ones we just left…

they were alot like the last place but was missing so much the last place had… it had alot of the same amenities but the people were not as personable and they were only a year old and still moving in really…
also, no mini theater, sauna and a couple other things like that… they did have a tanning booth and a hair salon though…
but we thought we would check it out anyway… we were not as impressed and the view was nice but the cost was about was about 100 and 150 more a month… and no tv in the kitchen… 🙁

so, we went back to the place we loved…

we filled out everything and we were told to come in in a couple hours and work out the place were we would be moving into, it is supposed to take 4-5 days to give the maintenance men enought time to do all the work on the apartments and they had just had a meeting that morning…

that was just not going to work for us…

she said she would see what she could do and get back to us in a moment…

she came back and said that she had NEVER heard this before but her manager said that she could have us in the next day or even possibly tonight…

    huh?

    no way…

she had walked the apartment that at this time looked like it was going to be ours… it was a different layout than the one we had seen but this one also had a fireplace… it was more than we wanted and a better price but we do kinda lose the view from the master bedroom… the guest has a nice view…

and then, she said that we filled out all the paperwork and it would only take a couple hours until they could probably get all the information they needed and if we could get the money to move in (which is alot, but managable), we could possibly be in tonight…

i could not beleive this… it was too good to be true…

we rushed to the bank across the street and they could not cash my travelers checks for the amount we needed… they could only give us 500 and we needed 1500 in a cashiers check…
    they said no can do…
we were in trouble now… we were about to get into this place tonight and because we have travelers check and not cash so we could not get the money to get into the apartment… the other bank had also closed… we were out of luck…

we went back to the apartments and let them know that i was unable to get the money that night…
the manager had then said that because neither of us showed any proof of income that we might need another 800 for the deposit… this was insane… this was not what we were told before… we were told by the first girl is all they can legally charge you for is 1 months full rent and we were already paying that…
so, we leave more depressed than before, but i still had to go back to Fridays…

so we went to Fridays and i talked to the manager and was hired on the spot… i start monday morning…
woo-hoo for a job of any kind at this point…

we ran back over to the apartments and let them know that i was now employed as of monday and she called and verified everything, saving us 800 bucks… 🙂

    that was close…

but she was unable to reach our last apartment so we could not get in tonight anyway… she would be calling in the morning and we will (hopefully if all things work out right) have the cashiers check for them…

so after al that we were hungry and headed across the street to the nice mall…

the food court was an upside down city of albuquerque with hot air balloons that made them look like light bulbs… everything was upside down so it was so interesting… it even had some hang gliders… very cool…

we ate there at thise place that sold chinese food buffet style by the pound… you grab it yourself, they weigh it and you pay that way… weird, but yet another cool thing…

and we walked around more and ran into a bed that i think i am going to be picking up tomorrow… it will be perfect… it is a black canopy bed… i always wanted a canopy bed and this is my little present to myself fr our new place… 🙂
and they will even deiver it for free… 🙂

it is beautifull here, there are massive mountains with snow and a beautiful view… i still can not believe that i now live here…

that was the wnd of our day out…

aand then we get home and he checked his email and his dad has been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery… we call the hospital and there was no answer at his room… we called his parents twice and left messages both times… panic and serious fear…
we call the hospital again and this time ask to be transferred to his dad’s room and after a couple transfers we are there…
we talk to his mom and she said that his gall bladder had died… the doctor had told her that he did not think he would make it through the surgery and this would probably be the end and eve if he did make it through, that it would still be far from over…
by the time we had called he had made it through the surgery and that the next 48 hours are extremely critical… if he has a stroke or heart attack it could very well kill him… and if he makes it through the next 2 days then the next month or so he is going to need 100% help…

to say the least, i am a blubbering mess at this time…
so, we are here at home feeling pretty good about ourselves and God lets us know the real reason why we are here…
we know this is not good and we are unable to get to them until tomorrow night… we are now needing this 2 bedroom apartment more than ever and this is the reason why…
we are going to finalize everything tomorrow morning and then unloading the truck and heading down to see his parents ASAP…

so, that is where we are now and we pray that tomorrow brings better things to his parents…

  • a little worn out… (from my live journal)

    Curent Mood: tired

    well another day has passed…

i am tired today… it is st pattys day and i had to work tonight… i think i have seen enough green beer to make myself sick…

i woke up later than usual this morning but it was nice to rest a little later than i will be for awhile…

tomorrow is a big day to get some things done…
today all i really did was get the bedroom picked up so when they eventually deliver the bed i do not have to mess around with making room for it…

and then i went to work… it was really busy for awhile but it was the last day of my training… boy, am i glad that is over with… i can actually start making some money here in a couple of days when i get my own tips…
it is hard to work so hard just to give the money to someone else… my manager was really cool though and said that i could go home early tonight and get some rest and take my tests whenever i wanted to… i thought i would take them in the morning but i think i will be taking them tomorrow night sometime…

tomorrow morning i am getting up early so i can take my car into get a tune-up and then i am off to see about another job… i am hoping this is something that i will be interested in since i hate looking for a new job… i have not had to do it in 5 years and it is not fun…

so, i am going to keep this one short again tonight since i have some things that i need to take care of but will be posting again tomorrow…
