Slumber party night starts with Dr. Demento and pizza rolls dinner with Watermelon Jolly Rancher Soda 🙂
|
|

Dr. D is playing songs about pizza. I love this guy 🙂

Tonight’s spn junk food movie is 1982’s The House Where Evil Dwells via Netflix Instant – first time for both of us.
|
|
|
The House Where Evil Dwells is spn gold. Adding this to the hall of fame list.

Prediction: It’s gonna be a good day.

Breakfast burritos and coffee (thanks, Terra!) with @KonyaHurricane and then off to disc golf in Cloudcroft.

@KonyaHurricane Imagine a course on that park land that goes allll along Washington. But, next time you come over, we putt in the back yard.

"The dead do not squeeze and please." – Kai
The dead do not feel disgust.
Thank God it’s Friday!!!
640am. Wesley’s up early, watching him play LittleBigPlanet on PS3, making my to-do list for today, looking forward to slumber party night.
Not sure LBP is a great choice for Wesley – too many objectives require reading and some pretty advanced controller techniques for him.
Though, if I sit here and help him, he has fun. But that doesn’t get anything on my to-do list done 😛 He needs no help in Free Realms 🙂
Amazon’d a PS2 multitap so we can all play Gauntlet Dark Legacy in Terra’s room. We love it even more than Dreamcast’s Gauntlet Legends 🙂
RT @PSLifeStyle: New blog post: Redbox Joins the Battle this Week with Video Game Rentals http://bit.ly/kv1agM
Though, once he’s shown something, he’s pretty much getting it – just gets stuck at instruction. And he loves the pic-taking/sticking. #lbp
I think the 808 somehow has better vapor production that my previous auto, a 510 I thought was great, and definitely better than a 901 #ecig
Would prob be a fine spn choice. RT @vudufans: 99 Cent Movie of the Day for 6/17 is "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" http://fb.me/Wyl78wmv
RT @PSLifeStyle: New blog post: Sega Pass Database Hacked http://bit.ly/iqcBvg
@KonyaHurricane You’re well on your way. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
@KonyaHurricane btw, it’s a busy day but just made a siphon 3/4 Black Cat, 1/4 Ethiopian, not bad, if you wanna swing by for a quick cuppa.
Sampling some of Terra’s strawberry vapes – she’s got like 19 different varieties 😛 The Strawblime from FSUSA is pretty tasty.
@KonyaHurricane K, well, Ima start tweeting fresh coffee open invites more often as I’ve now blocked anyone I wouldn’t want to respond ;P
You know what’d be a good vape today? Peppermint. It’d be like a breath of winter air in this heat. I *think* I can make it with extract.
You can buy VG at Walmart and vape it straight from bottle or add flavor. No nicotine involved. There are "flavor vapers" who never smoked.
I’ve even seen a few scattered stories of dieters who vape nicotine-free just for all the hundreds of flavors without the calories, etc..
This prob Wesley’s best Friday ever. Got up really early, played LBP in Terra’s chair all morning, then breakfast, Free Realms since then.
The theme of the latest Dr. Demento is mmmmonkeys!! It’ll be great spn listening tonight 🙂 http://drdemento.com/online.html
RT @sween: I’ve lowered my expectations for the Green Lantern movie. As long as a lion doesn’t eat me, I’ll be fine.
I just love the feeling of having all the housework done by noon!! Erm, so it’s a real shame I can’t have that feeling today 😛
@KonyaHurricane Wow. Well, be sure that, if it was the coffee’s fault, it will suffer at my hand. You know I got your back.
@KonyaHurricane See how it all works out in the end? They’ll be able to calm ya right down 😛
@KonyaHurricane Well, the coffee has gotten a stern talking to about going a little easier on my friends, just in case.
@KonyaHurricane And don’t forget a glass of red wine an hour before bedtime. I’d recommend a sweet Merlot. Little Penguin has a good one 🙂 -

Oh. My. GOD!! Stephen King’s The Stand mini-series is on Netflix Instant Watch! If you love post-apocalyptic stories, do yourself a favor!
Ah ha! Looks like I wasn’t necessarily the cause of the dual-coil carto’s demise. Another went last night and took my eGo with it. Grrr.
I had a total vapo meltdown last night. Found my kr808 in my case with the light on (it still is), eGo cooked, dual-coil carto problems…
Btw, a dual-coil on a freshly charged regular manual 510 – I hit the button, start inhaling, and the light dims in about 5 seconds.
Caveat: (attn @SteveVape) it was a 6-month-old battery so that could have been a factor. Terra is using a dual-coil on her eGo with no issue
Hmm, batt indicator light and click on/off for regular usb eGo price? http://avidvaper.com/products/LEA-510-Tank-Battery.html
Btw, the 808 issue is because it’s apparently not a sealed battery and I keep my carto’s soaked. Fine time to not have an air duster.
Pulling the trigger on the Lea. Would have to get a new eGo anyway – since price is the same and a couple unique features, I might as well.
Applied centrifugal force to my kr808 and, sure enough, liquid came out, light went off, seems to function properly now.
Charging up our little 510manuals, her 901autos, and hoping my 808auto holds up (using a 901 atty on it) for the few days until Lea arrives.
I’ve been impressed with the 808 battery life (avidvaper.com KR808D-1 auto). The 510s only last me an hour, 808 prob 3+ hours. #chainvaper
Btw, would have gone for the 1000mAh Joye eGo from GP but they don’t carry Boge cartos and we need them since these dual-coils failed us.
Hadn’t mentioned yet, these dual-coil cartomizers are 1.5ohms. We usualy use 2ohm Boges. LR, dual-coil, prob not the best choice for 3.7V.
Curiously, VaporCast has a new episode and two of the guys are trying 1000mAh USB eGos with LR attys, to see how long the batts survive.
Kewl! RT @vudufans: 99 Cent Movie of the Day for 6/16 is "Man on Wire" http://fb.me/MA793kkO

@TheLDHunter love your box set posts. Btw, I also acquired the bulk of my collection from Half Price Books – about a dozen around Dallas.
On LaserDisc, "Box Set" meant something very special… http://moviegeeks.posterous.com/one-flew-over-the-cuckoos-nest-laserdisc-spec
Btw, if you’re saying "Wtf? LaserDisc?", here’s the elevator pitch http://bit.ly/jn8r2K
@TheLDHunter I think you can relate to this kind of obsession 😛 http://christophercornelius.com/stuff/oldlddfw.html Ah the good old days 🙂
@LaserDiscWiki That info was last updated in 2003 🙂 I was just sharing the evidence of my own collection-building days.
@LaserdiscWiki Where were ya when I needed ya? 😛 So far as I know, nobody ever read the page of all the meticulous work we did back then.
@LaserdiscWiki That page died when I moved away from that area so I’d have no idea. But, HPB is always a good bet as @TheLDHunter can attest
The "Cookies for Pokies Program" isn’t working. He just isn’t that into junk food. You oughta’ see all his leftovers every spn. Weird kid.

Get your butterfly on! Be your own bear! Try that do your own thing thing! Put some Coontash on it!
I wish I had a tape of the "Coontash" story. Mr.Coontash fished, never caught anything, always had zeal like he was reeling in the big one.
Hence, the encouragement-in-the-face-of-certain-defeat "Put some Coontash on it!" has been in my arsenal for years… Mostly gets me "Huh?"
But "Be your own bear!" and the "doing your own thing thing" are both from Jungle Jam & Friends. Best children’s radio show evar.
If fact, it’d be a great motivational poster. Guy with an empty fish basket, hollering, jumping, reeling, with "PUT THE COONTASH ON IT!!"
How did I not know my electric screwdriver fits right onto the turncrank peg of my hand grinder? Now, where’s the charger for it?!

That may be the best dinner I’ve ever made, imntbho 😛 Of course, the Aquinas 2007 Pinot Noir only made it better 🙂 (thanks, Michelle!)
2010 movies notes from my phone http://christophercornelius.com/wp/2011/06/13/2010-movies/ Obsessive? Me? (Also 2009. 2011 is w.i.p. 😛 )
It does not mean I un-say a single thing about the effed up politics leading to its making, BUT, Toy Story 3 was VERY worthy – we loved it!
Well, my Pioneer Elite CLD-97 won’t spin a disc and neither will my beloved Yamaha CDV-W901, grrr. Gonna try the Pioneer CLD-D503 (yuck).
The 503 works but colors are typical Pioneer LaserDisc player pastel and no digital audio output. The Yamaha 901 is a superior 503 clone.
Received Dances with Wolves.
Well, the 503 won’t flip the disc. And sometimes won’t open the tray. Great. I am now out of working laserdisc players.
Aaand, I just carelessly fried one of the dual-coil cartomizers we recently got. Not my day.
I am pizzissed about the LD players.
Btw this whole laserdisc player thing was partially to start capturing some of the ultra-rare stuff onto dvd. But also "because it’s there".
So, now I’m in a kitten-stomping kind of mood. You’ve been warned.
I still own 361 LaserDiscs http://www.lddb.com/account/?user=insidious_plots but probably only 20 very rare or otherwise treasured by me.
Incl. Pi, every US WS Star Wars release, Criterion Boogie Nights signed by dir., and LE box sets like E.T., Dances with Wolves. #laserdisc
Kewl, I have 24 of LDDB’s list of 100 most wanted laserdiscs http://www.lddb.com/top100.php?id=4 Sadly, I do not own #1 – The Matrix.
The LD of The Matrix is unique in that it has the theatrical tinting – other formats got a heightened green in scenes within The Matrix.
They asked Terra to go in at 4(am), she did. Now they ask her to stay until 4 (she’s usually 6a-2p), she is. Being a nurse can suck.
Didn’t know that. RT @LaserdiscWiki: @ABQChristopher The Region 4 Australian DVD also features the original theatrical tinting of the Matrix
@LaserdiscWiki Do you happen to know what blu-ray got? So far as I noticed, it’s as "greened" as my old dvd.
Wow, very comprehensive. RT @LaserdiscWiki: @ABQChristopher Here’s a good comparison of two DVD versions and the BR. http://bit.ly/kpJg5b
Wishes @vaporcast would hurry up. Last new ep was 5/17. My afternoon housework isn’t the same without them.
Took me a minute to figure out the weird sound from behind the couch was Moogle. Never heard such a catsnore – and I’ve owned many kitties.
@KonyaHurricane Heh, was just pondering asking if you wanted a quick iced afternoon pickmeup – a sign? 😛
Posted @ABQChristopher I’m game.
@KonyaHurricane You know that’s what I love to hear 🙂
There’s a chance I over-caffeinated @KonyaHurricane. I was an irresponsible bartender, now I’m an irresponsible barista.
@KonyaHurricane You make it sound like an isolated incident 😛 Uh, yeah, I’ve acci-tweeted many times. Just earlier today was most recent! -

Home, dinner, Terra is gonna teach me all about making burgers on dad’s old grill. My first time – I do my cooking indoors.
Oh, and I am, in return, gonna introduce her to Samuel Adams Oatmeal Stout. I haven’t had it in years. Hopefully, it’s as good as Young’s.
Uh, oops, obviously I meant Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout in that previous tweet.
Ahh, Sara Bareilles – a favorite of mine lately – we’re playing a couple of her albums while we make dinner. Outside. #curmudgeon

@KonyaHurricane Meh, come to find out I love her radio stuff and the rest just isn’t the same. Not giving up. Maybe just not BBQing music 😛
Btw, found a Bialetti Brikka in a shop in Cloudcroft but it was 1-cup for $17 so I left it behind. I need at least a 2. But it was tempting.
Oh, and a woman running an antique shop was very impressed at how well-behaved Wesley was and gave him a candy stick 🙂
Hm. Does Sony remove games from PSN? ‘View all by title’, there’s a vid under Gauntlet 2. I find reviews of it online. But, it isn’t there.

I finally, uhm, un-re-organized – yeah, that’s it – the bar back to the way it was and even a little better.
Playing Gauntlet Dark Legacy with Wesley on Terra’s PS2 in her room while she owns the living room with Free Realms on the PS3. Lazy day 🙂 -

Ching! I finished 9 over. Definitely want better but really satisfied with that score as a return from a long absense. #discgolf #cloudcroft
Btw, I don’t remember what my usual score was on this course but it was never great. Probably rarely par, let alone under.
Now strolling through some shops in Cloudcroft. (Btw, that means we’ll probably be visible on CloudcroftWebcam.com at some point.)
Another great pair of Doc Martens found at a thrift store. Excellent condition, four bucks 🙂 My 9th (?) pair, all from thrift stores.
Ok, House of Treasures in Cloudcroft is the coolest antique/thrift store yet. Getting some great glasses.
Just had an awesome chat with Charles at Higher Grounds in Cloudcroft – instant best friends because of coffee geekery.
Btw, after a little coersion, he even sold us some of his Intelligensia Black Cat Classic beans 🙂
