well he posted to his blog today about our early days of how we got to where we are today… well we are a mere 11 days apart in age (me being the elder)… we have both our birthdays and our anniversary in a 2 week period, so we celebrate our anniversary… last year we took a road trip and that was wonderful… this year is still unknown but it will be special none-the-less because we have each other for yet another year…

i love you and i can not wait to spend another year with you…

(just a little lovey but hey, what can i say… i am a girl and much loved at that…)

well this is my first attempt at posting to my blog via email… i know that
he has done it before so i am trying it out as well…
there are a few problems about posting via email though… for one. you are
unable to preview the post before sending and another big one is that you are
unable to comment…
that is a real bummer…

so, here are a couple of screenshots of what i have running on my psion…

this first one is a screenshot of what my desktop looks like…

it is one of the coolest things that i have ever had in my own two little
hands… since i have never had a pc of my own… i have used pc’s for work
and all that but we are not pc people… so, again this is the greatest thing
to me… i love that i can choose any picture that i want as my main desktop
and have all the applications that i usually have running along the sides…

on there i have links to my personal notes database, email, web client, voice
note taker, radio for the albuquerque area, my agenda, contacts, diary, his
notes in i_p, text adventure zip file and the list of all the films that we
have seen in the last year or so… we have over 400 movies (most of them on
laserdisc)… 🙂

along the bottom is the toolbar where i can choose a different desktop, add
files, folders, write notes right over top the entire thing, a calendar,
calculator, time pop-up to make schedule changes, dialer, backlight and sound
managers, disk usage monitor, link manager and at the far right is where i can
run all my macros…

have i mentioned how much i love this thing?

well, onto the next screenshot… this one is of all my other programs that
run from my extras bar…

this is where all my programs can be launched from… as you can see that i
am trying out a million and one things and use many of them all the time… i
have yet to get them organized but i still feel like i am moving in since i
have only had this computer for a month yesterday…

on the bottom row is DCP, which is my desktop…

OPL is the programming language for psion, my comms, record is a recording
program which works with my voice man and the manager… voice man and the
manager make it so that every time i turn on my computer i get a little pop-up
that reminds me that i have a pending voice note… great application…
bombs is a game that i never play, spell is what you think it is… and then
there is my web and email programs…

on the second row is sound which is the basic sound editor, MBMView is a
wonderful pic viewer… i have a great slideshow that will take all the pics
in many formats and convert them and shows them at an interval that is chosen
by the user… it has been much used at work and has been the topic of some
interesting conversations… 🙂
then there is the zip and news reader apps… i have yet to use the news
reader but have it for the one time i want it… the utility program next to
that has been nice for finding all those useless files that need to be zipped
up or deleted… i used alot of his programs when i was using the psion 3…
then frotz is the app that lets me play my text adventures… macros is a
necessity… you can not really get by without it…

the next row has tons of disk utilities that i have been playing woth lately
from comapcting filesm disk checker for bad and fragged files, optimizer is
much the same, smart format is for formatting my CF cards, disk editor is
another disk utility program… nightkeys is nice because it brings up an
on-screen keyboard for when you can not see the keys at night (hence the
name)… no more is something that i am unsure of at the moment… hermes is
a taskbar thing but i have not used it since i use DCP and do not need a
taskbar that follows me everywhere at this time… i know that i will use it
eventually…

and finally the last row… alternet is an internet tools and has a db of
places to get programs…
narchive is great… it takes all the files that you do not need all the time
and packs them into a small file and then unpacks them back where you got them
from… i am working with that as soon as i get done posting this…
i am unsure of expander… reclaim does just that, reclaims space…
solun is beautiful… there are screenshots in our psion grabs space… it is
a planetarium in your pocket… too bad it has been cloudy the last 2 days…
real maps is something that i have not played with much either… i know that
it is popular in the UK… it has maps of all kinds of places and you can
modify them to make them more personal to what you need… nirc is my irc
client that i have yet to use…
more has all the other programs that are not listed on the immediate extras…
on there i have Opera, another ftp client, an html designer, icon designer
and modifier and some other programs…

ok, so now we are done with the long stuff and onto the easier things…
here is a pic of what the Dreamcast Girls Yahoo! group looks like using Opera
since web can not get there…

this is a group that i have had for a long time… it is a yahoo group that
was started because i wanted to meet other girls that had a dreamcast game
system… it is great for people that want to be online and do not want a
pc… there is not that many members but there are a few of us that have been
around since the beginning before it was a yahoo group and just a message
board… and yes, it is a girls only group… i do moderate membership but
not posts… it is a very social place and we talk about very personal things
along with just the latest game that we are playing… thanks to all the
girls there that have helped me have faith in the group… it does not change
much but i have always been pleased with the look and feel of the place…
the girls there are some of my best friends and have helped me through some
times in my life that i could not have managed as well if they were not there
to help me… do not let anyone tell you that people online can not be real
friends… they have been some of the best friends that i have ever had…
i love you guys… 🙂

and last but not least, a picture of my homepage and blog using the built-in
web program…

i had just finished moving all my live journal posts over and now i am about
to post this…

so, there they are… i am praying this works because i am unable to change
my posts once they are made… i have to delete them and re-post… i
dunno… at least if i do it from email i will have a copy in my sent folder
and can make any adjustments from there and re-post… so here goes…

i have been working all day on moving over the posts from my live journal to here… i am praying everything worked out alright… none of the comments are moved over though… i figure if people want to read the comments on the posts that bad then they can go to the live journal and read them there…

i am still keeping my live journal but it is no longer my main homepage… this blog is…

i like the things that live journal offers but this can be on my own server and i have a archive of all my posts…

i am just getting started here so, i am hoping to keep things going with this better than i have with my other sites…

well, i am heading to go get my starbucks now since i feel like i worked on this for long enough today…

we will see how well i can keep this thing going… i have been loving it already…

i still have some changes that i want to make and will keep an eye out for links that i like and remove the ones that i do not feel are valid anymore…

so, if anyone cares… all my lj posts are now here and you can feel free to comment on them either here or over there… 🙂

just testing this thing out right now… christopher just started working on his and i thought it was really cool, so i decided to follow him and do the same… 🙂

well i finally got my psion 5… yippee… 🙂

i have been downloading mp3’s to my new gba mp3 player and that has been tons of fun so far… i am still moving into my new computer… i will be posting from there as soon as i can but right now i am transferring mp3’s from his machine to mine so i am posting from my dreamcast…

yesterday was so nice around here it was the perfect day to drivearound with the convertible to down, so we did…

i am so amazed by the psion 5… it has all the things that i had hoped to have on a palmtop and more… it has icq, irc, ftp and a million other thnigs that i have not played with yet… i love that i can read and reply to emails anywhere i go… and we are again compatible… thank God…

so, other than that things have been pretty much the same… i am hoping to go out job hunting this week because i am frustrated with still waiting tables… people do not tip very well in this state…
i had one job opportunity but turned it down… they wanted me to work in the ER in and out patient making a measly $9 an hour… that is insane to me… but, whatever… let some other person deal with all that for such a miniscule pay…

blah, blah, blah…

well, we got home last night from our, hopefully last trip ever into texas… it was a long trip and we are more than pleased to be back home…
we made the trip starting from here on saturday night and went down to see his parents… we stayed there on saturday and sunday night and then headed towards d/fw on monday early afternoon…

it is one long horrific trip and if i never have to go there again, this will be one pleased girl… it seemed to be even longer than the last time we took the trip, jus 2 weeks ago… i guess it was that we were driving at night so much and it seemed to be more draining than i remember the last time being… but that is ok, we are not going back again… 🙂

we had to go back because of a dental appointment that i had there (long boring story)…

we got almost to fort worth in one night and stayed in a hotel about an hour out of town… then we headed into fort worth the next day… we got up a little early so we could hit a couple of the laserdisc stores there… (the only reason why i think we will be really missing d/fw, we have not yet found a place here in abq that sells laserdiscs)…
we picked up a couple of things and then headed to the dentist… that was only about an hour long and then we headed to the last of the great laserdisc stores… the great half-price books in dallas (but they did not have any prizes this trip)…

after we hit all the shops that we wanted to, we headed down on down the road back home… i was so happy that i was heading home that i continued to drive until i could not stand it anymore…

we ended up stopping to sleep in amarillo… we found a great hotel for an unreasonably cheap price and was glad to lay down… we woke up the next morning and drove around a little bit… (there will be pics uploaded from the trip when we get the chance…)

so, we had picked up a couple of audio books right before we left and had been listening to “the drawing of the three” by stephen king… we had read this before but out of the 3 and part of the 4th book that we read in the “dark tower” series, this one was our favorite…

we have a great audio book and we are not far from home… 🙂

we left texas for the last time (please, God) at around 2:30pm mountain time and got home around 6pm or 7pm…

yippee 🙂

so, that is all for now, but i could not be more pleased to have slept in my own bed last night…

i almost totally forgot… :O

while we were at his parents house, we finally got our beloved “yearbook edition of freaks and geeks”… it is one of the most beautiful things that i have laid my eyes upon…
thanks to my oldest brother and his wife, we have this great set in our hands today… thanks so much… i can tell you that enough…
if you have not seen or heard of this TV show, then you may not understand… but, it is even better than i had expected… but, telling you all about it here is keeping me right now from watching it, so i will be making another post all about it soon enough… i might try to take some pictures of it to upload but i know that there are much better ones on the web…

i can not say it enough… i am so pleased to behome… 🙂

well we have been working on the apartment the last week or so… these pictures where taken a couple of days ago so they are not totally up-to-date…

we have added some new things to the bar… we now have a frangelico bottle sitting on the far right and a bottle in the fridge (bummer we can not have it showing too) of bushmills irish cream…

i also added some greenery to the top and am planning on getting another one to finish it… i think it looks pretty and adds some color…

the bar is all irish with a few exceptions… it is something nice and simple, since we already had a full bar once and are not planning on doing that again…

as you walk in the front door, the first thing you see is this huge eye looking you dead in the face… 🙂

and off to the right is our beloved close encounters collector’s edition one-sheet poster and next to that is a poster of PSO (phantasy star online)…

PSO was a big part of our lives for some time and is sadly missed… it is a great game and our first experience to online games…

beneath the posters is where we are shelving all of our other books…

this is a shot of my unfinished corner from the other side of the apartment…

the other lights in the apartment are turned off and there is this island of light where i sit…

i have a lamp that hangs directly over my chair…

the lighting in our apartment is wonderful…

it is perfect for home theater and playing games at night…

we have something hiding the top light off to the left so we have direct light towards the ceiling and not everywhere else as well…

the ceiling fan light happens to be on, but when it is movie time, the only light we have are the top light on the left and a few plug in night lights…

there are also candles throughout the apartment…

we are mellow light people and prefer candles over harsh florescent lighting… we have cinnamon burning candles to make the place smell nice… 🙂

i have an amelie poster and a small final fantasy 9 poster off to my left above all the music…

there is my desk which houses all my components…

i have my 17″ flat screen monitor, speakers with subwoofer, dreamcast, laserdisc player, dvd player, and playstation…

i also keep all my pretty things on my desk with some favorites… i have my space channel 5 mini-lunchbox and knick knacks from family…

off to the right is my final fantasy x-2 poster that was given to people that bought the game on release date…

he bought it for me, so i would have the new game on release date and i absolutely love it… i could not tell more girls to play this game (tons of girl fun)…

this is a long shot of the living room…

along the left wall we have added some of our favorite movie posters…

along that side is an amelie poster (which is not visible here), a punch-drunk love, magnolia, and moulin rouge…
in the back there is all the drawings of us along with a couple of copies of actual photographs and our marraige certificate…

near the sliding glass door, which leads to our balcony, is the media shelf…

in the foreground is the shelf with all the non-favorite laserdiscs and all of our movie books…

the couch is there on the left and the coffee table seems to be hidden by the movie shelves…

behind the couch is also where each of us has a small poster from the games that we are playing… on his side is a map of “liberty city” from grand theft auto 3 and on my side is a poster for final fantasy x-2…

here is a great shot of the kitchen from a different angle including the front door…

here you can see the reservoir dogs poster just off to the right of the door… i really love this one here because you see it as you are walking into the apartment…

along the middle there is another shot of the bar…

in the background, you can see that we have not gotten all the space filled up above the cabinets… the current plan is to space the empty bottles along the entire ledge there and i had thought about getting some more greenery (i like the little that we have so far)…

last but not least…

this is a great shot of standing near the movie shelf with all the other laserdiscs and movie books…

we felt is was very appropriate to place the ‘fear and loathing’ poster near the bar… it also adds alot of color to the area…

along the top of the counter there, you can see the few irish whiskey bottles and the frangelico bottle…

on the closest side is where we were having our bar tools sitting… it has 2 shakers, a dual-jigger and strainer…

the candle is also there for minimal lighting…

as you can also see here the reservoir dogs poster next to the door…

so, there they are…

the last progress report of the apartment… we will be doing the finishing touches little by little, but the main part of the job is done…

i badly need to get something for my corner since half the things that make this place so cluttered looking are over here… i plan on getting some sort of bookshelf, or storage cubes to place all my other things here…

the living room is really come together and we have enjoyed the set-up so far… i love that my side of the couch is near the fireplace since i am always cold…

the place is beautiful and huge… we did not think that we would not be able to fill up all this space… we are getting this place to feel more and more like home every day… 🙂

i just love it here…

well we made it into d/fw this morning around 6am… it has been a very long couple of days… i drove down from albuquerque sunday night after work… i got finally see my husband after 10 horribly long days… that has made everything worth it all… i got there sunday night and then the next afternoon around 4pm we left… we drove through el paso and stopped it get starbucks… then from there we were on our way into d/fw… i had a dental appointment this morning at 8am but luckily they were able to change it to 4pm for me so i could get some sleep… so i slept about 7 hours then went to the dentist this afternoon… from there we went to a half-priced books to look for laserdiscs… we picked up a couple and then ate and grabbed another starbucks and headed to dallas… we went to the movie trading company and grabbed some laserdiscs and some movie soundtracks… then we headed over to half-priced books in dallas and picked up a couple things there… when we were in arlington we stopped into the half-priced books and picked up a couple of movie scripts… we could not believe they had them and they were only $5 a piece… we picked up alien and ience of the lambs… 2 movies that we like very much…

it was the best find that we had while we were here so far… we are going to hit fort worth on our way out of town, so we’ll see…

not much else for tonight…. i will have to post when i get back about the last couple of days before i left town…

time to go to sleep soon, another long day of driving tomorrow…

Current Music: nothing now, but listened to some old tapes all day…

i know that i did not post last night, so i am posting now and may or may not post later on as well…

his dad got to come home from the hospital and that was good, but when i called this morning he was having alot of problems… he did not get the medication he needed and that was just the start of it… i feel so bad about not being able to do more from here… i thought that i might be able to get something from the VA here but it is not really possible… he usually goes to the one in El Paso and so it would not be much use in my going to the one here to get the meds or anything…

my car seemed better this morning but after a bit seemed a little rough… i have to get it into someone ASAP because i have to drive to d/fw this next week and can not have it breaking down on the way… i hope that guy at work comes through for me and if not then i will take it wherever i can thursday morning…

i would be more than willing to leave it with someone for a couple days if that is what is needed but i have to get it looked at right away… i talked to someone today and they said that it sounds pretty much just like it is needing a good tune-up, so i am praying that is all it is…
please God!

well, i have not talked to christopher since this morning and i have not gotten any emails so i am thinking the worst… i hope not…

i just wish there was something more that i could do but i am trying to be strong and do all the responsible things here…

i know that today was not my most productive and that i pray that i did not set myself back too much but i have thursday partially open and can make necessary arrangements if need be…

well, not much else, so i am off and will see what happens… if there is any new news then i will be posting aain, but if not then this is it for today and will see what tomorrow brings…
