Much like yesterday’s…
Proverbs 13:4 (nasb)
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
But the soul of the diligent is made fat.
Getting ready for a day of disc golf at the very nice course in Ruidoso with @Thorobredz and @NurseTerra… First full 18 in a year…
Heh, @Thorobredz just referred to Neal Patrick Harris as "Doogie Howser"… Had to let him know that he is now Dr. Horrible…
Wow, it took a lot longer than we remembered, but we’re finally here, about to tee off on hole #1! 🙂
Frakkin-a, missed the double mando on 4, will bogey it and put me at 7 over so far – hole 1 is a total beeyotch and doomed me from the start
Well, finished the front 9 at 11 over 🙁 about to start the back 9 after a little break…
@1prdpgn it’s what i get for refusing a handicap 😛
Uploaded a pic: weird tree branch at ruidoso disc golf course (hole 8) http://bit.ly/z8mAC
I uploaded a YouTube video — Grindstone Disc Golf Course in Ruidoso, New Mexico http://bit.ly/10Z7eS
Man, this back nine is killer, up and down hills… I need a Slurpee!!
Shared 5 photos.

There are BONES everywhere up here, and here’s a pic of a whole PILE of them! http://bit.ly/aLmpp
Wow, we survived – barely – i finished 21 over… Back 9 was treacherous but actually pretty easy holes, except a couple BRUTAL ones…
On our way back to alamo, just in time to go get slumber party might munchies…
Tonight’s slumber party night junk food movie is Ice Pirates – i reconverted the file and am sure it’ll work this time 😛
Tonight’s slumber party night junk food is vanilla ice cream with lots of syrups/toppings/nuts that we keep on hand for the coffee bar 🙂
Didn’t think @Thorobredz was the kinda guy who’d be into doing hair, painting nails, sitting on the floor/couch in jammies with bad movie 😛
Another great spn to end a singularly great day… Man, i am gonna sleep like a baby on valium tonight… -

SPIDER ON MY COFFEE BAR!!!! Sheesh, is nothing sacred to these little bastards???!!!!
Kewl! Streamingsoundtracks.com (my current fave ‘net radio station) is playing August’s Rhapsody (from August Rush)…
Making dinner – mom’s on the couch, playing with her first cell phone ever… Asking lots of questions 😛
@1prdpgn i was gonna run, but that whole in-home garegiver thing means i’m trapped 😛 at least she’s reading the manual, though…
@1prdpgn re:11th commandment – the Vulcan ideology is called "IDIC" – Infinite Combinations by Infinite Diversity… /childhood Trek geek
@1prdpgn erm, or is it Infinite Diversity THROUGH Infinite Combinations… Hmm, been too long, not sure…
watched Get Shorty with @nurseterra – i love it but it isn’t exactly a good movie… I call it a movie for people who love movies… -
Lifestream for June 10th
Stuck at home, waiting on a package (mom’s cell), playing some LBP with @nurseterra…
this is undeniably a stunningly beautiful tattoo but girls getting the tattoos across their chests are ruining an area of their bodies that will be nearly impossible to fully cover and the regrets will be severe…
Grrr, 5pm, been grounded all day and still no sign of the package… This sucks… -
Lifestream for June 9th
@pgh_1980 wow, that’s really awesome! Congratulations! may you have many more 🙂
Johnny Depp is 46 today… Last i saw him, he looked my age and i just turned 36… Sigh…
Ooers, the shuttle is scheduled to lift off this weekend…
Re-patched the leak in my espresso machine and it’s holding so far – fingers crossed.. Christoper’s Candlelit Coffee Bar may rise again 🙂
Well, i’ve never made lasagna before but it turned out REALLY good 🙂 terra says "That lasizzle was the shizzle!!".. That’s good right? 😛

Already too much stuff to deal with this morning.. Gonna sit and watch new episodes of my cooking podcast and not worry about anything yet..
Btw, http://startcooking.com – excellent, efficient video podcast, aimed especially at beginning level skills but good recipes either way…
i just had a huge scare – heard an odd sound, looked over and wesley was choking on his pb sandwich.. Acted quickly, he’s fine but trembly..
by the time i hit send on the last tweet, he was back to gobbling it down… Kids are so resilient… Bounce right back from anything… -
Lifestream for June 7th
Last day of the weekend, need to make a big wal-mart trip, REALLY wanna throw a quick nine in cloudcroft first – need to pick up the pace…
So, there’s a big church free bbq/concert here in cloudcroft and they say you’re all invited 😛 but they’re blocking hole 2!! Grrr…
Posted @jesusfreakgeek Ha!
Between the wind and the church people, we couldn’t play 2, 5, 8, or 9 🙁 park courses can suck sometimes and high winds always suck…
Now for a little bit of Final Fantasy 7 before bed 🙂 (@nurseterra is on the other end of the couch with Phantasy Star Portable…) -

@drivers99 i do sometimes think about posting particularly good recipes on my site… Maybe i’ll do that one today…
Published recipe – chicken green chile casseroleThis is a recipe I got from Chris Dunn – @Thorobredz on twitter.

I posted to my blog: recipe – chicken green chile casserole http://bit.ly/7NsNg
grrr, Wesley did to my wool rug in the sitting room what the chinaman did to The Dude’s rug…
Enough is enough, i’m trying some epoxy stuff on the leak inside my poor espresso machine… I really don’t think it’ll work…
First test of espresso machine, the epoxy held against the pressure, we are cautiously optimistic…
Gotta run a couple errands, get slumber party night munchies, so it has a little longer to harden – we’re gonna try pulling shots tonight 🙂
Epoxy stuff to fix espresso machine leak = FAIL 🙁 it’s better but it’s a pressure issue so any leak is unacceptable, it has to be 100%…
I recently purchased baristopher.com – thought i was clever (barista+christopher) but seems i didn’t think of it first 🙁 see @baristopher
I always google first but didn’t this time and the other baristopher has used the name all over the ‘net – think i’ll offer him the domain..
Ok, tonight’s slumber party night "junk food movie" is 1984’s Ice Pirates – an all-time low for us 😛 which makes it a perfect spn choice..
ACK!! The file is corrupt! Grrrrr.. Ok, so, ahem, tonight’s slumber party night movie is Psycho! (rassen frassen mutter grummit ding dang..) -
recipe – chicken green chile casserole
This is a recipe I got from Chris Dunn – @Thorobredz on twitter.
I don’t claim to be any great cook, so I’m just going to relate what I did and the reader can adjust to their preferences, rather than give instructions on what “should” be done. This is pretty simple – just layering some ingredients then baking it: chicken, green chiles, refried beans, and cheese. The layers will be separated by flour tortillas.
I started with about a pound-and-a-half of cooked chicken.
I heated up 2 cans of vegetarian refried beans and diced almost a whole onion and mixed into it, plus quite a bit of granulated garlic and some salt. Since I didn’t season the chicken, I was counting on the beans to carry most of the seasoning. If you want to do it that way, add whatever seasonings you like here. Though, most people would probably just/also season the chicken.
Obviously, fresh chiles would have been best but we are out, so I used two 13oz. containers of Bueno mild chopped green chiles (frozen vegetables section of the grocery store), which are actually very good. If there were no women and children eating it, I would have used their ‘Autumn Roast’ which is really good but fairly hot. I drained as much juice out of these as I could. The juice can make the tortillas soggy, BUT the juice adds a lot of flavor, so decide for yourself which way you want to try it.
I used a mixture of some pepper jack cheese i grated and some shredded “fiesta blend” cheese from a bag, as this was what I had on hand. If I had to guess, I would say it added up to four cups.
For the final ingredients prep, I toasted four burrito-size flour tortillas.
Time to build it.
This was four layers, so, I used a fourth of the ingredients in each layer.
Last time I made this, I also added a final (fifth) tortilla on top and cheese on top of that. I didn’t do that this time – if you do, you’ll obviously need some more cheese.I used a little non-stick spray stuff in a casserole dish, 10×10 and 4 deep.
I started by laying a tortilla in the bottom then spread some refried beans, then the chile, then the chicken, then the cheese. I shredded the chicken with my fingers as I went, btw. But, last time, i just diced it. I think we all liked it better shredded.Needless to say, just keep doing that – we found the amount of ingredients distributed really well into four layers. The toasting of the tortillas helps them to not be as soggy.
For the top, i diced up maybe a quarter each of a red, yellow, and orange bell pepper, mainly for looks.I baked it for about half an hour at around 350-400 (this stupid oven doesn’t hold consistent temp!), covered.
BTW, I used a very sharp knife to slice it when done so the layers didn’t squish. And be sure to slice thoroughly so it is all seperated and you don’t get surprises when you go to serve it. And wiggle it a bit in case the bottom tortilla stuck.
I served it with guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and some chips on the side.
I am thinking I could do some nice things with rice in there next time or on the side.
Now, that whole thing took me a couple hours to make (incuding bake time) but I am notoriously slow so I would say most people would take an hour.
I hope I didn’t leave anything out.
If I had known I was gonna’ post this, I would’ve taken a pic 😛
