Lifestream for December 6th, 2009
Xmas radio playing, making dinner, @nurseterra playing her psp in sitting room, wesley poking her with his finger and going "boop! boop!"
Seems half the time I finally getting around to playing a game/demo on the PS3, it wants a required software update. "Sony UpdateStation"
PlayStation Home is the main offender. I launch it maybe every couple months and it always wants some big download. -

@Jaeckle yeah, I know they have one but didn’t know if it was reputable and was afk (cooking) so I figured i’d ask the twitter collective.
Rode along with @nurseterra to a visit in Cloudcroft – she was on call – and got calls – turned into an 8 and a half hour ride along.
Needless to say, any plans we had for the day didn’t happen. But, we’re having slumber party night anyway. Even though it’s almost 930 ๐ -

4 1/2 inches on the back porch, 25 degrees, lots of icicles – that’s no winter wonderland, it’s a frozen wasteland. My froze are toezen!!
Gave wesley my old digital camera. If he can figure out the psp as well as he has, I have hopes for him figuring a digicam out, too.
Doing housework and listening to a tape of an xmas episode of George Gimarc’s The Lost Tapes that I recorded ten years ago today.
RT @balloonfiesta: 302 Days, 15 Hours, 19 Minutes, 52 Seconds until the start of the 2010 Balloon Fiesta. It’s never to early to make plans!
making caldillo/green chile beef stew using this recipe: http://tinyurl.com/yfthh7c i’ve always made it the same way, but it sounded good.
Anyone know any links for an app/info how I could run a low traffic/semi-private internet radio server on XP? Preferrably line in to net out
(iow, I want to play these tapes through the computer line in and be able to pick it up on my psp and share the stream with a few friends.) -

Now, is this the frying pan or the fire? Been in and out of each so many times, I can’t tell the difference lately.
It’s snowing AGAIN???!!!! You have GOT to be farking kidding me!!
Late dinner with @nurseterra in dark except xmas lights, blinds open, back porch light on, watching snow fall. She works 6a-10p tomorrow ๐
(…,1Club.FM xmas internet radio playing on the stereo – they’re turning out to be a pretty good station this year. 64k, though.)

I measure two and a half inches on the table out back. And, as the song says, it doesn’t show signs of stopping. -

That is some weather out there all morning – snow, fog but still slices of sunlight, mid-30s.
Very thankful @nurseterra got her job back. Not so enthusiastic about the schedule they put her on – mostly 2p-10p, a few 2p-6a doubles! -

How the heck can we still find things to complain about after all we’ve come through lately? (first couple/few verses of James 4? ๐ )

Oh, GREAT!! There’s like 4 bleeping inches of snow outside and it’s still coming! Now wtf are we going to do?!!
.@nurseterra has four visits today, including taking blood to hospital (up/down hill) and has to go to nursing home job. In snow.
Wonder if this waste of a town has even one snowplow. @nurseterra is from missouri, she knows how to drive in snow, but it was FLAT there!
And, her knowing how to drive in it doesn’t mean the other people driving around her do. This sucks.
RT @PNMtalk: Inclement weather causing spotty outages in Alamogordo, NM due to falling tree branches in power lines. PNM crews on patrol.
RT @PNMtalk: PNM crews working on restoring power in Tularosa, NM. 1,750 customers without power due to downed circuit. More info to follow.
Updated the CHDK hack for my Canon camera – cool new features – I am ready for some serious video’ing of the season ๐
Btw, if you don’t know CHDK, it is an amazing hack for Canon P&S cameras that give you hundreds of dollars worth of great new features. -

Oh. My. God. Rode along with @nurseterra to visit in Cloudcroft. View is amazing, road up is scary. WHY would someone live up here??!!

Wesley can’t wait until Christmas http://flic.kr/p/7jvG19
Considering a Gaggia Pure or Evolution. Seems to be below my experience level but the features are better than my bleeping (broken) Bodum.
Not that I can afford either Gaggia ($250ish) but can’t find cheaper in that class and it looks to be a decent next works-for-now machine.
I can’t begin to guess how many times i’ve been tempted to buy a machine on credit – $500+ range, last me for years – no more entry level.
Hey, i’ve made the best of my sub-standard espresso machines! Modding, pushing to (past?) their limits for what? Five years?(!)
"Bloom where you’ve been planted." saw that yesterday – hadn’t heard it in a long time. gotta’ try to live it. -
