Finally watching Withnail & I in HD, thanks to Netflix streaming 🙂 One of my fave movies ever, never seen it anything but lousy quality.

@don_rivers Ah, we were a year or two apart. And I went to a private high school, so yeah, I guess we just barely missed each other.

@don_rivers Ah yes, the bad old days of zero compatibility but as I recall TI was an underdog and least similar to anything (besides Amiga).

@don_rivers Erm, I mean, the Amiga’ers were as bad off as the TI’ers. Seemed most casual micro owners had a C64 – nobody had a TI.

Wow. It’s a disheartening moment when you call to upgrade to a faster internet package and you’re told you’re already at the maximum.

We use the hell out of some internet. Mom’s constant online gaming, my ‘net radio all day, maybe Netflix or Vudu movie in the evening.

Oh, and the recent addition of Wesley’s "Word World" (excellent educational show) in the afternoons, via Netflix streaming in HD.

You’d think a 12mb line would be enough. Cable, though. I obviously need to do some optimization. About which I know nothing 😛 Sigh…

I started with a 300 baud modem on a TI-99/4A when was 11 (26 years ago!) and the world was mine (TradeWars!). Now 12mb/s ain’t enough.

I actually co-sysop’ed the Twilight Zone BBS right here in Alamogordo (with Dick Sheffler and Bill English) when I was a teen.

It pains me no end that there doesn’t seem to be even one pic of my computer set-up when I was a kid. I got rid of it all when I was 16.
