Uh, yeah, fall is coming – I’m dying with allergies today. (Yes, you can die from that.)

Stereo is installed! Last used in my ABQ van, has mp3 CD but now also has PSP with ‘net radio with help from my phone’s WiFi hotspot app 🙂

Late spn went well (JC’s The Thing), slept late, today we’re gonna bring Terra’s PS2 out and 3-player Gauntlet on the couch all day 🙂

@RemarkableRyan well, there’s two sets of wires ending in plastic plugs – one is power (4 wires), one is speakers (4 pairs of wires)

@RemarkableRyan and the car has one plug with like 14 wires. And this is a wiring harness for models incl. 96 camry but it’s not even close

I get the feeling I’m going to be splicing wires if I want this to work. Or paying someone. This was easy on my Chevy van (same stereo).

Does car stereo installation cost a lot? I got a wiring harness and it matches neither the car’s nor my stereo’s connections. #help

Terra went, looked at the car – we’re cautiously optimistic. (I’m incapable of ever being fully optimistic.) Taking it to mechanic tomorrow.

Thanks to Joy, Wendy, and Don for all the input. If the mechanic gives the car a clean bill of health, we’re gonna buy it 🙂

Terra’s off Friday. We’re taking the new car to Ruidoso during school. It will be our first time just the two of us went out in THREE YEARS.

(Wesley’s dad stopped taking him in Nov of 2008 and we have no babysitter, so it’s been 2 years, 9 months since we had a day out, just us.)

btw, Terra is always mon-fri so it’s perfect timing – she works this weekend but is off fri and mon around it, then back to normal.

Any suggestions for a place for a nice-ish little lunch in Ruidoso? Not fancy, just not fast food and bonus points for unique/fun.

But now I am, admittedly, counting my face-huggers before they’ve burst from their leathery eggs. Let’s see what the mechanic says.

I LOVE that car!! Even has a GREAT stereo, the leather is in MUCH better shape than I expected, and it’s got a moon roof for fresh air 🙂

If this car works out, we’ll be able to go to balloon fiesta in Albuquerque again this year! 🙂 Just don’t know where we’d stay yet.

It would be my sixth? seventh? ABQ balloon fiesta and our third as a family – Terra, Wesley and I. It’s my favorite holiday of the year 🙂

The mechanic had nothing but bad news.

Ok, we’re taking the car. Even if repairs cost as much as the mechanic says, we’d still come out less than what Wendy says the KBB value is.

Just to be clear, I consulted with three people who’ve been involved with us in this and they all agreed the idea makes sense.

Wesley and I are watching 1956’s The Red Balloon (a 34-minute french film) on Netflix InstantWatch. It’s very cute and endearing so far.
